Bye-Bye Wedding Day Emergencies!

There is a little rumor going around that weddings are stressful... Well, I'm sorry to break the news to you, but this is an understatement. The planning of a wedding is an emotional roller coaster, full of dips, turns, and surprises, sometimes unpleasant ones. This mega theme park of a roller coaster ride ends by tenaciously pulling you, your future spouse and wedding party up a steep track and dropping you down the other side, i.e. your actual wedding day.
There will be so much to do and think about that day that you would be doing yourself a huge favor by doing as much preparation as possible and being prepared for small mishaps. This is where a wedding emergency kit comes in handy. Before my wedding day arrived I tasked my maid of honor with the duty of putting together a few supplies we may need on the big day.
A wedding day emergency kit is not something I invented. This is a really popular idea that I actually discovered on Pintrest. In case you aren't familiar, a wedding emergency kit includes all of the supplies you need in case of an unexpected accident on your wedding day, mainly concerning your dress/ personal needs. It can't help you if the DJ isn't on time!

Bridal Emergency Kit by Ray

An emergency kit is a great DIY project you can do yourself but in the event that you don't have time for that you can purchase a pre-made kit. Enter the Bridal Emergency kit by photographer Ray Alvarez. This kit is sold online for $19.99 and includes a wide array of products you may need on your wedding day in the event of an emergency.

About the Bag

You can purchase the kit in 3 colors: Pink, Green or Blue. Each kit contains 19 items, which breaks down to each item costing around $1 each. Not bad right? The kit is about the size of a make-up bag and could be used as such after the wedding is over. The material is pretty sturdy so it should last a while. I think these would be really cute in patterns: chevron, cheetah print or paisley would be cute additions to the current 3 color line up.
The bag/pouch contents:

2 Advil Tablets
Makeup Remover Wipes
Mosquito Repellent Wipes
Stain Removing Wipes
Deodorant Wipes
Emery Board
Elastic Bands
Beauty Wedge Applicator
Breath Mints
Cotton Swabs
Bobby Pins
Bandaids
1 Tampon
Earing Backs
BodyTape - Double Sided Tape by FearlessTapes
Tissue Pack
Dental Floss
Mini Sewing Kit
Safety Pins

Should you buy it?
Looking at the vast array of products included in this kit, including the quality of the bag, I would recommend. On my wedding day, I don't believe we used much of what was in my kit but practical things like these never go to waste.
Most valuable items
-Deodorant Wipes: while getting dressed, getting hair, makeup and possibly wedding day jitters, you will sweat! Deodorant wipes will come in handy, for sure, and this eliminates the need to keep up with a stick of deodorant. Only 1 is included in the kit so your bridesmaids are on their own, but who cares about them anyway, it's not their wedding day! (totally joking, I'm sure their great!)
-Pain reliever: This is great for stress headaches, which you are totally at risk for. Your wedding is kind of a big deal.
-Body tape: Just in case someones dress is showing a bit too much or you need to secure up your sexy reception dress, these will come in handy.
-Mints: It's a good idea to chew on one of these while you get ready for your first kiss is amazing, and keep one on hand for after dinner. You will want fresh breath for when you greet and thank your guests.

Honorable mention
-Tampon: For some reason, I was really impressed that this kit included this. A surprise period or running out of tampons while in your dress would obviously be a recipe for disaster. This tampon could save lives! It's even a name brand tampon, not the type that comes out of the 25 cent machine in the public restroom.
-Earring backs: You may need these the day of your wedding but I think this is one of the things that I would love to throw in my purse for everyday use. I'm always losing earring backs for some odd reason.

Least likely to use
-Beauty wedge applicator: More than likely you will be having your makeup done professionally so there won't be much of a need for this item. If you happen to be doing your own make-up you probably still won't use this.
Mosquito Repellent Wipes: unless your wedding or reception is outside you probably won't need this but I think this is a great item to have in your purse for summer outings.

Past the wedding?

I think the best part is that if you don't use all of these items on your wedding day, they do not expire! You can throw these items in your purse and use them down the line. The bag can even be used to hold makeup or used while packing for your honeymoon. For the cost, I would definitely recommend purchasing the Bridal Emergency Kit
