David's Bridal Gown Preservation Kit review
So far I am very pleased with the David's Bridal Gown Preservation kit. I purchased this right after my wedding in November. Luckily, I caught this kit on sale for $99 because it's regular price is $189.99! I must admit, this is high in my book but, I didn't look into alternative companies or bridal boutiques to preserve my gown so I don't know if this is a good price compared to other places on the market. I went with the David's Bridal kit because I could 1. get it on sale and 2. I didn't have to do too much work to get it done.

DIY Wedding Backdrop
Ceremony set up with DIY backdrop |
Our ceremony and reception took place in the same room at a banquet hall, which meant the ceremony was on the dance floor of the room, that was also set up for the following reception/ dinner. Although the venue was very nice, I wanted to make a better use of the space by bringing in my own backdrop. I wanted to create the feeling of two separate spaces, the ceremony space & party space, even though it was the same room. In my opinion, the back drop really pushed the look and feel of the ceremony to a higher level and it made our pictures look amazing!

Winter Protective Styling: Wigs & Weave!
Wedding hair styled by Nicolette Shegog |
Protective styling is not something I did with any consistency or intention outside of just wanting to change my hair for the hell of it. So, often times I did get caught out in the winter with my Afro or puff exposed to the harsh weather. On multiple occasion my hair actually froze in the wind! That, coupled with the fact that no hat or hood will fit over my fro at this point pushed me to the decision to protective style all winter.
